Small Spoons

I sat down with some friends recently to commiserate about mutual

concerns. We discussed the social, religious and political quandaries we

are all navigating.

I confessed my sometimes helpless and hopeless mental and emotional

state. I seem to ride the spectrum of despair and existential dread on one

side. The other extreme is to retreat into peace and acceptance of the

current reality over which I have little control. I cannot remember who said it, but I've heard the phrase recently “obedience in advance”. It implies a passive acceptance of those executive policies, decisions, and attitudes I oppose. So, I decided I needed to do something.

I ran across an article entitled “Thirty lonely but beautiful actions you can

take right now which probably won't magically catalyze a mass movement

against trump but that are still wildly important”. This prompted me to

imagine a website where information can be curated and shared.

The website will be entitled A Small Spoons Collective. Actions anyone

can take based upon time and energy. Small and big things we can do as

individuals or a group that stay true to our moral and social compass.

Stay tuned as we launch.

We imagine together a community of support.
